1. What is the Quartz Glass Sheet?
Quartz sheets are usually smelted, cut and ground from quartz, and their silica content can reach more than 99.99%. The hardness is Mohs 7, and it has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, low thermal expansion coefficient, thermal shock resistance, and good electrical insulation performance. Quartz sheets are usually colorless and transparent, and the visible light transmittance is above 85%.
2. Optical properties of quartz plates
The optical properties of quartz sheets are unique. It can transmit far ultraviolet light, which is the best of all ultraviolet transmitting materials, and can pass through visible light and near-infrared spectrum. Quartz glass has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, extremely small thermal expansion coefficient, good chemical stability, bubbles, stripes, and uniformity. And its birefringence is comparable to that of general optical glass. Therefore, it is an indispensable optical material with high stability optical coefficient working in various harsh occasions.
Advantages of Quartz Glass Sheets/Plates/disc:
1. High temperature resistant, high-purity transparent quartz glass substrate, quartz glass plate can work continuously at 1200°C, and even work at 1450°C for a short time. Its softening temperature is 1650°C, and the melting temperature is 1750-1800 °C.
2. Corrosion resistance, except for hydrofluoric acid, the optical grade quartz plate does not react with any acid-base except hydrofluoric acid. The stability is 30 times that of ceramics and 150 times that of stainless steel.
3. Excellent thermal shock stability
4. High transmission to 85%
5. Electric insulation. It is 10000 times of usual glass
